“60 Second Elevator Pitches made easy for Speed network meetings”
by Janet Torley on 13/03/2012

What to say and how to say it   – Break it down into four easy to manage chunks

Your name and company – goes without saying “Hi I am Fred, Fred Bloggs of Bloggs Creative”

What do you do – “we offer …………”  say what you do in a few short words that fellow delegates will understand.  Don’t get technical and don’t get cheesy with statements like “We will change the way you think…or……we will make you a millionaire overnight”  This just puts people immediately on the defensive and they won’t listen to the rest of what you want to say

For whom – tell the delegates who your service is aimed at – i.e. small accountancy practices or big utility companies…..this helps people quickly identify potential synergies

Benefit – sell the sizzle – this can be quite hard to do in a few words so think about a client success story or imagine a client success story to share.  An example might be “Bloggs Creative has just finished work on a new product for a major blue chip company and they are so delighted, we have been commissioned for a further 3 months”  Or  “Just last week, we worked around the clock to complete a project for Big & Mighty Ltd, but it was worth it as they have recommended us to Lots of Cash to Spend Ltd”

Call to action – if it is a Speed Network meeting say how people can get in touch with you.  And remember to tell the delegates what else you would like them to do with your information such as pass it on to their contacts,

60 seconds should be around 100 words
